Whinash Windfarm Inquiry - Written Representations

All objections and representations received, including those received during the course of the Inquiry, were considered and taken into account by the Inspector in preparing his report and recommendations to the Secretaries of State.

All representations received were available for inspection in the Inquiry Library throughout the duration of the Inquiry.

In total, 17,355 objections and 1,569 letters in support were received.

Of the 17,355 objections, 1,454 were individually sent objections to either the Secretaries of State or the Inquiry Inspector.  The remainder (15,901) were by way of pro-forma style objections, collected at source and forwarded in batches.  (There is some evidence of duplicate returns, which could be in the region of 5%.)

Of the 1,569 letters in support, 530 were individually sent letters to either the Secretaries of State or the Inquiry Inspector, while 690 were pro-forma style support letters collected and batch forwarded.  The remaining 343 indicated support for the proposals by “spoiling” one of the “protest form style” letters of the No Whinash Windfarm Committee.
