REPORT INTO ALTERNATIVE VENUES FOR PUBLIC INQUIRY

At the pre-inquiry meeting the Inspector undertook to investigate the possibility of alternative venues for the inquiry, including the evaluation of those suggested by the parties at the meeting.

The Inspector has asked that any comments thereon should be sent to the Programme Officer as soon as possible.  The Inspector has also asked for comments on the two venues identified in the report for the evening sessions of the inquiry.

Having considered the report the Inspector has concluded that it would be appropriate for the inquiry to open at The Vikings Hotel, Goole as indicated in the note of the Pre-Inquiry Meeting.  In addition to the evening sessions there may be some flexibility with regard to the venue during the later stages of the inquiry though much would depend upon the progress made with regard to presentation of cases.  A detailed programme will be prepared in due course.

The decision of the Inspector with regard to the opening venue does not prevent any party from raising procedural issues at the inquiry proper.
