Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd (Network Rail) have made an application to the Secretary of State for Transport under Section 6 of the Transport and Works Act 1992 for an order which will authorize the compulsory acquisition of land and interests at Hop Exchange and adjoining plots in the London Borough of Southwark.

The Secretary of State for Transport had called for a Public Inquiry into the application.

The Public Inquiry opened on Tuesday 16th September 2008 at Southwark Cathedral Conference Centre, John Trevor Williams Room, London Bridge, London SE1 9DA
